Metakine Inc. (kine, pronounced like kinetics) is a small Canadian software company located in Montreal, Quebec. Metakine specializes in the development of software for audio, video and image processing. The founders have all graduated in software engineering and are passionate with programming and digital video and hope to translate their passion into useful and usable software for video and audio processing.

Each of us has contributed to various projects in the Macintosh community before we got together, namely the early development of the excellent 3ivx MPEG4 video codec, improvements to MacMPEG2Decoder (now quite dead), the MediaPipe project which was a pioneer in providing DivX, Vorbis and (S)VCD encoding for the Macintosh, OpenShiiva to reencode MPEG2 as MPEG4 and SonicBirth, developped and maintained by Antoine Missout.
